Well done to all the participants in the last few days that tried out the 1000m trials as a preparation to the O’Neill Fitness Test. This test was developed by a rowing coach (Terry O’Neill below)  for rowing ergometers.

This is only really applicable to people with good technique as poor technique will leave you thinking you’re less fit than you really are. Therefore ask your instructor if you’re ready for it and only try this under the direction of an instructor so that he or she will be able to assess your technique and hence the validity of the test.
